International Needs (IN)
International Needs is a non-denominational Christian Development Organisation with a global network of partners in over 30 countries. Their vision is “transformed lives, changed communities.”
IN was founded in 1974 by Ray Harrison from New Zealand, with the objective to empower communities by helping them to develop the leadership potential within their own cultures. Originally built on the effective child sponsorship model, the focus is increasingly on empowering the community as a whole, so that no one is left out. IN programs include education for children until high school, awareness classes for families, skills training and health care, clean water, as well as sustainable agriculture.
“As a family we have sponsored through IN several children for over 20 years. It was great to have the personal contact with ‘our’ child. We thank IN for their faithfulness in serving the poor and vulnerable families.”

Holy Trinity Open House (HTO)
The preceding association of IN-HOPE partnered with the Holy Trinity Open House Foundation (HTO) in Zamboanga City from 2014 to 2021. This institution for orphans, street children and other vulnerable children was founded by Ms Lorna Fe Haas with the support of Ms Rita Bonazza, who is a member of IN-HOPE, and some other friends from Estavayer-le-Lac. When David Amstutz created the Swiss association in 2014, the project took off, and HTO was able to begin the operational phase in April 2015 when the first children were welcomed at the center in Zamboanga City.
Until 2021 IN-HOPE through its preceding association raised the funds needed to provide full residential care to over 20 children per year. We also provided assistance to the management of the HTO foundation.
